Performances

My dream has always been to be a performer and to hopefully move people with the songs that I write one day. I want to make a difference through my music.

How can you move people with your music if you don’t allow them to listen to it?

I have in 2016 faced my fears of sharing my voice with others.... be vulnerable and be okay with that vulnerability.

My first performance was at Rondebosch United Church singing VOICES with Franklin. I was a bundle of nerves. Afterwards, people applauded us and they congratulated me. This, was a big step towards seeing that it wasn’t that bad, that performing was not as scary as it seemed in my mind.

My second performance was my first Solo performance. It took place in Malmesbury Prison. I sang One Day by Kodaline acapella. I really felt that this song was perfect for my audience, that it would resonate with them. I believed what I was singing and it was well received. I got great feedback. It was truly an amazing experience.

My third performance was on Youth Day in Belhar; My fourth performance at a restaurant in Elgin; My fifth performance at Roxy’s in town.

I pushed through my anxiety.

There is no use in beating around the bush. DO what you need to do, PUSH through your fears, PURSUE your dreams and NEVER STOP until you get there. It is when you push through your fears that doors begin to open. It is when you pursue your dreams that they become a possibility and it is when you never stop that they become your reality.
